Refund policy


Sum=R&D ("", "we" "our") has the following return policy, only overridden by manufacturer specific return policy

Any merchandise that is unopened and in the original packaging may be returned to us within 30 days if accompanied by a Return Authorization Number, excepting non-returnable items marked as such on the product landing page, see below for more details. If the merchandise was opened, it must be returned in as-new condition, including the original box and all other original packaging, manuals, and accessories. Fees imposed to us by our supplier to replace packaging, hardware, or printed materials will be deducted from the refund amount. Return shipping and related costs are the responsibility of the customer. When the return is received, we will refund the purchase price, excluding original shipping charges. Returns may be subject to a restocking fee. 

To initiate a return, please follow these steps: 

  • Contact customer support to request a return authorization (RA) number. 
  • Package the product securely in its original packaging. 
  • Include a copy of the RA number. 
  • Ship the return to the address provided by customer support. 

Once your return has been received by the manufacturer, they will issue credit and we will refund you less fees or replace accordingly. The credit process is subject to the manufacturers time frame for receipt, in-processing, inspection and crediting. This can take 3-5 business days or longer.

Canceled Orders 

An order that has shipped cannot be canceled. If you refuse an order which has already been shipped, not due to damage, you will be responsible for paying a return fee, starting at 20%, as well as any shipping fee incurred. 

Damaged Items 

Any item(s) damaged in transit must be reported to SUM=R&D within 1 business day of delivery. All original packaging must be held with the damaged item(s). Please have photos of the damage ready to send to our support team if requested. We will then process a replacement, or a pick-up for return and refund as necessary. In many cases, the damaged item must be returned for a replacement to be sent. 

Defective Merchandise 

For any product purchased from SUM=R&D to be determined defective it must be subjected to individual manufacturer’s warranty processes. Any request for returns on items that have not been subjected to the manufacturer’s warranty process will be considered buyer’s remorse returns and subject to a 20% restocking fee as well as any shipping fees. 

No Return Policy Items

Some specific items will have a no return policy, such as mobility devices or items that ship freight. Each item will list this clearly in the description of the item. These items are ineligible for returns, and no return for refund will be accepted. Please see the damaged items and defective merchandise sections for information pertaining to returns of those items.

Replacement Only Return Policy 

This policy applies to specific products designated as "covered by the Replacement Only Return Policy" in the SUM=R&D system. If you have purchased a product covered by this policy and believe it to be defective, you must request a return for replacement within the specified warranty period. Products covered by this policy can only be returned for a replacement of the same item. Refunds are not available for products covered by this policy. Once your return has been received by the manufacturer, they will inspect the product to determine if it is eligible for a replacement. If the product is deemed defective, they will ship you a replacement at no additional cost. 

Please note that this policy applies to specific products only. For products not covered by this policy, please refer to our standard return policy. 

Please Read the Following Exchange Agreement: 

When you are making a purchase from SUM=R&D, you are acknowledging the following of the Exchange Agreement: 

  • I understand I am to inspect the package upon delivery, and notate and take pictures if there is any damage and provide it to SUM=R&D within 24 hours of the product being delivered. 
  • I understand that I may be responsible for the cost of return shipping and the cost of a new product shipping in the case of a refund or exchange.  
  • I understand that if my order has been shipped, that I am unable to cancel my order.  
  • I understand that if I return my order once it has shipped, I will be responsible for paying any return shipping fees and restocking fees, which vary by product, but are usually around 20%.  
  • I understand that shipping date estimates outlined on product pages are estimates and may change due to factors completely outside the control of SUM=R&D. 
  • I understand and agree that I will not cancel my order or file a chargeback for an order delay or because an estimated time provided to me turned out to be incorrect due to factors outside the control of SUM=R&D (such as manufacturing and logistical constraints of our partner companies). 


The products sold through SUM=R&D ("", "WE," "Our") are warrantied by the manufacturer who makes the product. As such, any warranty issues will be dealt with the manufacturer. Our customer service team can provide you with contact details for the manufacturer, and a copy of your order receipt at your request so you may pursue warranty assistance.
